Every so often, a customer makes a great impression on us. One such customer was Ms. Betty Young. We found out the past week that Betty passed, and we wish to express our condolences to her family. We also would like to take this time to pass along some photos we have of Betty.
Everybody liked to get a call from Betty. She always lifted our spirits. She never had a harsh word to say about anybody. Except when she threatened to get out her "knee-capper". This was something our crew made for her as a joke because she kept threatening to hit them in the knee-cap. She loved to threaten these big burly guys, they loved it and so did she.
Many times our crew would volunteer to do landscaping for her, whenever they were in Shelby, or they would even stop by on the weekends. They would plant flowers, bushes and do general yard work for her.
Betty was a fixture in Shelby, loved by everybody. She was one of a kind, and they broke the mold after her. She will be sorely missed by all of us who knew her.
